Check Your Eligibility

To qualify, you must be a Massachusetts resident with proof of address and have a qualifying condition such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, glaucoma, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, Crohn’s disease, ALS, or another debilitating condition your provider deems appropriate for cannabis treatment.

Start by speaking with a provider registered with the Massachusetts Medical Use of Marijuana Program. If they approve, you’ll receive a certification and personal PIN to begin registration.

Register with the Commonwealth of MA

After certification, visit the Massachusetts Medical Use of Marijuana Program Online System. You’ll need your PIN, a valid ID, and a current photo. Follow the step-by-step instructions online.

Prefer paper? Call (833) 869-6820 to request a mail-in application (processing takes longer).

Once approved, your Program ID card will arrive by mail. You must carry it whenever you’re in possession of medical cannabis.

Assign a Caregiver (Optional)

You can assign up to two caregivers through the state portal. They can purchase, transport, and assist with your medical cannabis use.

This is helpful for patients who need extra support or can’t easily visit a dispensary. Caregivers must register and meet all requirements set by the Cannabis Control Commission.
